@OwlInASack I think we live less and less in a democracy and more and more in a plutocracy, a world wide dictatorship of billionaires and corporations. Plutocrats want to concentrate a maximum of wealth in a minimum number of hands, making them the opponents of socialists. Plutocrats also want to burn as much fossil fuels as they can to the dismay of the tree huggers.
Nope. Humans are greedy twats and that's why we can't have nice things.

Obviously for us and future generations.. any negativism will only empower the few on top!
Never mind the planet! The planet is in no threat at all and it doesn't care. It's the survival of the human race we're talking about. Are we going to survive or are we all going to choke ourselves to death in our SUV fumes?!
