A federal judge overruled President Trump's order limiting migrants requesting asylum. His order would have been a direct overturning of an act of Congress. (See link at end of post.)
Under The Immigration and Nationality Act, "Act 208 - Asylum", "Any alien who is physically present in the United States or who arrives in the United States (whether or not at a designated port of arrival ... ), irrespective of such alien's status, may apply for asylum ..."

He is a narcissist and sociopath. If you're not careful, that comes with delusions. His confidence in his personal power and reach of executive orders is consequential. It is his downfall and why he has a base of devotees - including many otherwise intelligent people.
End of the day, I still say he is an insult to narcissists and sociopaths. I can at least say with confidence none of the narcissists or sociopaths I know support Trump. That proves they are more intelligent than him.
Checks and balances are a great idea. Could a counter-argument be made in this particular circumstance, and especially in the case of the mass migration in progress right now? I think a change in the law might be in order.

Sure, counter arguments are fine... But current laws must be followed until they are changed...
I agree completely that is a worthwhile discussion to open. Senate can and in some way will be addressing it immediately under POTUS passive pressure, at least.
