Yes, I suspect your right. It is likely, maybe, the future populations will look at this as the Dark Ages.

I hope that they see this as the end of the Dark Ages.

I don't want to call it a "dark age"...

I'm feeling that these last pushes toward conservatism, toward resisting women's equality, towards racism is just that...last pushes from the "cornered rats" who feel desperate that their way of life is no longer "the ideal"

What's ideal?
-I'm afraid to use the term; but in a word...."Globalism".
That would be...
-all of us speaking one language.
-no borders
-one economy
-stabilized growth...in fact....no growth, the new word will be sustainability.
-A population that's reached ZPG.
-Little or no "religion". Charity still working - but not because an imaginary power demands it.
-Most, if not all "diseases" cured. Anti-aging chemicals and genetic procedures allow us to stay fit and healthy decades longer.
-No burning of fuels for energy. Not coal, not fossil fuels. Not hydrogen, not wood, not cow chips.
-No need for "combustion"...except for entertainment.
-We would even phase out nuclear. Geothermal's already in place in Iceland, for example; so I'm not talking about putting wind-generators or tidal-flow gens there unless they see that the transition would save them from tapping in to the potentially unstable source of geothermal in to the stable sources of wind and tide flow.

When will we reach it? I'm guessing in anywhere from a few decades to 100+ years. We are getting close.
