I am a recovering Lutheran-turned-Evangelical/Fundamentalist-turned-atheist. That being said, I openly admire people that exhibit the real message of the Nazarene named Jesus, commonly called "Christ". People like Jimmy Carter, Martin Luther King, and others that actively work to help the poor, distressed, sick, and needy. I am referring to the ones in the parable of the sheep and the goats as the sheep; those that ministered to the ones in need and served their fellow humans, not the Pharisees that loudly pray in the synagogue/church and the metaphorical street corners, while doing nothing that does not serve themselves.

It causes me to pause and look askance at the religious right wingers that support this current stain on American politics and question their discernment. Then a friend that IS one of those admirable disciples of the real Christian principles posted the following article on his Facebook page. It answers some of my questions.
