The Median Amazon Employee's Salary Is $28,000. Jeff Bezos Makes More Than That in 10 Seconds

Here’s where we have to do some math. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Bezos’ net worth on Jan. 1 was $99 billion. On May 1, it was $132 billion, meaning it rose $33 billion. If you divide that difference by the 120 days in that period, you find that he made $275 million a day. Divide that by 24 hours in a day to get about $11.5 million per hour, the equivalent of roughly $191,000 per minute or — the clincher — $3,182 every second.

Now take that $28,446 sum we found out the median employee gets and divide it by $3,182 to find out how long it takes Bezos to pocket the same sum. There’s your answer: 8.93 seconds.

Let's stop ragging on Jeff.

He's created a new way to shop. It's convenient, it's intelligent, it saves gas, oil, and the pollution of driving to go get stuff. One delivery truck drops off stuff to dozens of folk...saving tons of pollution. Brick and Mortar stores are dying thanks to Bezos...and tens, if not hundreds of thousands of folk have jobs thanks to him. Home Depot and Walmart are now trying the home delivery system. When there's an opening at the local Amazon warehouse there's a line around the block; folks are very willing to work there.

So quit picking on Bezos. He's brilliant...

If you want to pick on someone, pick on the senators and congress people that give the rich tax breaks.

Bezos is just another filthy rich idiot taking advantage of an extremely unfair system, with no morals or compassion to change it.

This CEO raised the minimum salary of his employees to $70k and now he's doing it again

@nogod4me Good for him; and I hope his business continues to grow.

Bernie has a plan for the absurdly wealthy'

@nogod4me And I'm sorry you have such disdain for him. I'd rather make Jeff rich than the CEO of Walmart orHome Depot; and by ordering on line I don't spend time, gas, and pollution shopping.

I know a lot of Amazon workers who are happy to be part of the organization. He does employ tens of thousands.

He also lives a wise lifestyle.

Read, Please.

@Robecology So, everyone else are the "dogs that feed on the crumbs that fall from the Master's table". No thanks, he is not a island unto himself, he can only enjoy his gluttonous wealth because of the sacrifices others have made and the corrupt system that the rich have created and imposed on everyone else. Tax him.

@nogod4me I agree 100% to tax him more..

Bernie is strongest of the Dem candidates on taxing the very rich.

Meanwhile, Jeff employs over half a million world-wide. When Amazon jobs open up...there's long lines of folk who want in. His employment growth is rocketing upwards. He lives a modest life; one jet, one boat. (Betsy DeVos, and the Waltons by contrast, has many boats and jets).

So let's ease off Jeff. He's revolutionizing commercial product purchasing...reducing car pollution (because you no longer have to drive, park, shop, and drive home....one deivery truck saves dozens of shoppers from going out to buy)...

Brick and mortar "stores" have reduced 30% in the past few years. All the major big sales companies are adopting his "free delivery" services...and he's a generous philanthropist.

Give it a rest.

He is not a god to be worshipped nor an idol to imitate. As Bernie says in the link you posted and agreed with:

There should be no billionaires. We are going to tax their extreme wealth and invest in working people. Read the plan: [t.co]

— Bernie Sanders (@BernieSanders) September 24, 2019

@nogod4me #1 I'm agnostic. No god worshiping for me.
#2. . I'm the one that brought up Bernie; he'll fix the greed in America; thus...
#3; Lighten up. You're being cranky and argumentative.

@Robecology Nope, just stating facts.

And the wealth gap grows and more fall into poverty and education is on the rocks. This country is fucked and fucked up. Of course plenty if money to give tax breaks to the richest and to fight useless wars and go work for Saudi princes of petroleum.

Time for a Major adjustment .
