way cool!! Do they do major damage?
They turn the soil. Ground squirrels if you will. The reforesters of the world. They do eat my hyacinths & tulip bulbs unless I convince them that peanuts are better. Now Bigpawbullets has his own stories.
@Mooolah I used to live in Virginia, had a mole that ate my tulip bulbs. That bulb was blooming one day, it was spectacular. The next day it was leaning at a 45° as it no longer had roots or bulb. I was heartbroken. Those damn little bitches had tunnels all over the yard.
Not really. They rearrange bulbs, start sunflower gardens, sample some of our strawberries & tomatoes. But we view them as outside pets.
My friend's daughter encouraged chipmunks as her children loved watching them through the sliding doors.
Less than 3 years later, the deck collapsed on their 5 year old home, undermined by the numerous tunnels they dug, and insurance refused to cover it because they had encouraged a "known nuisance"

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
