Bit over-excited again, first time pollinating the dragon fruit! with a paintbrush dipped in alcohol... these are the buds, then 2 flowers open at 9pm tonight, and looks I have a week of it to go. Photo 3 with flashlight then put flash on for last two.

Wow, must bring a lot of satisfaction. I feel the same way when my grafts take. Once I actually grafted 2 branches backwards and they actually took.

How old are your plants? I was interested in epiphyllum which appear very similar to the dragon fruit. Getting something edible off a plant is always a plus.

@Allamanda - Wow! That is an awfully nice abundance of blooms. Do they always need to be hand or paintbrush pollinated to get them to fruit, or dos it just increase the chances of fruiting?

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
