My plants are getting sunburned on my West facing patio. So I have provided them umbrellas in an effort to be a good plant Mommy

I did the same for some fragile ostrich ferns!

I am losing some of my plants in smaller containers, and others are noticeably suffering. Even the iris is turning a bit crispy on the ends of leaves. I have been watering and it does help, but the sun and heat is just too much for some.

Same thing happening here in Hell. I had to put a lot of my smaller plants under the patio to keep them from burning up.

I have to move mine around to compensate for the blazing summer sun., like your idea.

I think this serves more than one purpose. My deck faces West and most of it has a roof over it but this part is out in the sun. I think keeping it shaded may even help the house a little.

@Lorajay I dropped my kitchen's summer temp by at least 10 degrees when I covered my concrete patio. I still get a blast furnace when i open the window or door, but not nearly as hot.

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
