Took some pictures of my wisteria last night. The sky is to bright during the day to get a good picture.

That is a great pergola and a lovely wisteria. I am very partial to "hanging down" plants ( my daughters' names for wisteria and golden rain trees.

My grand daughter asked me if they were grapes. LOL Does kind of look like grapes.

They really are pretty this year. Two year old plants.

@Redheadedgammy they grew everywhere when I was growing up. I miss seeing them. I had planted some when I was in OK. but I don't have any here [yet].

@Heidi68 Well, N. Carolina should have the perfect weather for them. I hope you get a plant soon, and enjoy the wonderful fragrance.

My husband built the pergola two years ago before he started feeling so bad. I love it so much because he built it just for me to be able to sit out on the deck without roasting in the hot Texas sun.

That is the way I always imagine wisteria - flowers hanging from a pergola. Very pretty

I remember planting them on the back fence in the Houston area, lots of heat and water, they would grow 1-2 feet a day, completely covered my back fence(150 feet) in two years. I loved the grape like structure of the flowers, Yours look wonderful.

I especially love the smell of the flowers! It does grow quickly and I am pruning it all summer long to keep it in check.

@Redheadedgammy I never knwq which one grew faster, the wisteria or the okra, I did know the okra required much quicker attention.

@glennlab Okra is another fast grower. I never acquired a taste for it so have never grown it myself.

@Redheadedgammy I grew up in La. so that was one of the summer vegatable on your plate, you ate it. After enough years, you kind of grow a taste for it. I always over planted it, like green beans and squash. It dries well and freezes well.I was much younger then and it was quantity over quality

In Kentucky it was the purple mist of early spring in the woods . In Alabama the wisteria vines had their own delicate purple haze that reached to the tops of trees. Love them

How unusual. Wisteria get huge around here.

Ah Wisteria, the plant from hell. I know, I've been trying to train one for years. It seems to have a habit of popping up someplace I didn't expect.

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
