We won't see roses bloom until late June. Early July sometimes. Do you have trouble with Japanese beetles on the roses?

Japanese beetles, black spot - you name it, I fight it all summer long.

Somebody likes yellow! 😊
I seem to have only a few yellows.have more red than any other color of roses, ....I count 9, not including red bi-colored ones.

What is that deep buttercup yellow bud?? ...right side, third down? I love the color.

All the yellow ones are the same plant, just different stages.

@Heidi68 Gaye Hammond, perhaps?

@MikeInBatonRouge I have been looking & looking for the little tag off of it (I save them...) but darned if I can find that 1 - found 4000 other ones but not the one I was looking for. Par for the course. Anyway, I took this a little while ago.

Beautiful!!

Thank you! Some of my bushes don't look great but they are all budding so y'all are going to be flooded with roses!

@Heidi68 do you know how to keep the blooms coming on longer?

@freeofgod mine bloom most of the summer into the fall. I do fertilize them and instead of mulch I use grass clippings under them.

@Heidi68 , wonderful. And if you prune the dead blooms off back to the first set of five leaves they will never stop blooming. Almost never. I raised roses for years but finally gave up over the Japenese beetles, rust, powdery mildew. All the fun things the KY humidity brings with it 😟

@freeofgod I do cut the buds off. Yeah, I have all of those problems but love roses so .........

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
