I picked a lot of yummy tomatoes last night, and have identified the mystery volunteer vine as mini pumpkins, but have not yet identified the two yellow orbs that are in the same area. I'm guessing that my zucchini plants were mislabled.... Anyone want to venture a guess as to what these might be?!?

Lucky you, more and more I am having to give up my vegetable garden. I recently discovered that one of my raised beds was filled with the roots from a nearby cedar tree.

They look like specialty winter squash varieties. The oblong one in front looks like a delacota which is now one of my favorites. They are smaller than many squash varieties and have a milder flavor. The one behind it looks like a carnival squash, the dark green one an acorn squash, and the yellow/orange one in front is one I believe we tried last year or the year before, but I can't seem to recall the name.

A couple years ago, I read an article about winter squash varieties and it inspired us to try some more than just the butternut and acorn squash almost always available. The delacota was a favorite for both of us and we have looked for them since then. It has been fun sampling different varieties, and for my wife, to try new recipes.

There is no dark green squash, you might've seen a dark leaf? The orange one is definitely a mini pumpkin, it is the two yellow squash I am questioning. I will look up the delacota, so thanks for responding, I appreciate it!

One of them is a pumpkin, but I'm just not sure about the yellow ones!

They appear to be ornamental gourds.

Could be some type of squash. I've seen squash before that looks like these but can't remember what type they were.

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
