We will arrive back on van isle (Qualicum Beach) on Feb 2 and will have tulips a few inches above the ground.
We are hoping we won't have a repeat of last year when we got back and snow started the next morn and covered the tulips and crocuses within 2 days and we didn't see them again until the end of Feb.
Unlikely, since last Feb was one of the worst on record.
I remember those lovely Vancouver Island February days but here in Ontario I am forcing tulips and irises in glass vases in order to see those colours in the winter.
I'm in Michigan. We have a town off Lake Michigan, called Holland, every year there's a " tulip festival" there's probably over a million, it's quite the spectacle.
I spent many summers in Grand Haven and Springlake, restoring our antique Chris Craft. Holland is truly beautiful in the spring and I love that area.
Do you plant your bulbs in the right direction?
Yes, always pointing south towards the sun.
@Surfpirate Wait.....

A thumb as black as coal.
@MissKathleen That's my wife in the pic, my thumb is as green as Ireland.

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
