Honesty and Transparency are the keys to real intimacy, truth is generally a perception held by many based on their own experiences. We are generally looking at what intimacy is from our perspective when entering relationship(s) with someone , that in and of itself is where conflict occurs because there is another perspective that is involved . Hence, Honesty and Transparency is what is required.

I had true, raw, total intimacy with my first husband, father of my children. There were no barriers, we shared everything. He broke a part of me that is still frozen, and I’ll never be open and unreserved like that again. I’ve come about 2/3 of the way, but I always hold something back. It just hurts too much to give that deeply, then have it betrayed.

Intimacy is not about the truth.
Intimacy is about closeness - emotional and physical and trust. Truth is only one part of it.
We often make things convoluted and complicated. Life is really not that complicated if you can see things clearly.

true, but with out truth you do not have trusr which effects your emotional and physical sides also ,all 3 need to be prominent and up front
