I grew up in New York City, we know what cornbread is… However, grits was mystery. I have never felt so much like a fish out of water as the first time I tried to order breakfast in Georgia.
Suddenly, the "Waffle House" tune is running through my head.
@Elganned My first time driving through at around 19 I stopped at a Hardy’s, I was a very New York New Yorker, the menu was odd to me, I ordered what the guy in front of me did because he looked like a well fed good ol’ boy, it was biscutts and gravy, that was 37 years ago, not had them since, I’m good ... he’ll im vegan now and I’m sure it was 90% pork fat. I do like holding the corn on the Cobb with buttered bread and I believe that’s a southern thing, and closer to the meme
I love cornbread but not that particular recipe.
