I concur; they rarely are right.

And, ignoring the myths and fairy tales, their strategy is for the most part, a good one.

There are good Christians...in fact...let me generalize and say that there are many good #Religulous throughout the world who go by the original tenets of love your neighbor, help the poor and down-trodden...walk in the path of the originator, be it Mohammed of Jesus or Budda....

-but they stopped being a "shepherd for earth"
-they let the "greed" addiction creep in to their lives.
-they took family planning (or lack of) too personally - and worked to take it away from the poor.
-they took male dominance too seriously.
-they took the concept of "build a church and the masses will come" too literally.

.I think it's these very things that many of us here on A.com stopped seeing that made us aware of the hypocrisy - and joint the Atheist/agnostic movement.

@DangerDave

First thanks for even reading my rant, and replying.

Let me start off by complimenting your decision to be a wise family planner. It is indeed a hell hole...and until you find a fabulous partner to consider having children with....I applaud you're being child-free - not child-less.

But about your concern that we "squabble" and aren't organized?

I say maybe that's a good thing.

I like your analogy to "kittens that won't be herded"....because most of us don't see a value to "organization"

Look what happened to AntiFa. They organized, they represented, they got a terrible image. True - it was the violence - mostly senseless- that got them the headlines. But now they're in disarray.

Do you watch Bill Maher? He's probably the most well known Atheist/Agnostic. I also suggest you read some Richard Dawkins. Here's a fabulous link that I often share from him.

We're organized. We're "herded" in many ways. And We're growing. Google "world religions vs non-religious-graph" for details.

We just know that some folks out there are itching for a fight...and we - or at least I and the A/A's I know won't be part of a "revolution".

I like to look at what we're doing as "devolving" or "De-evolution" which is happening...albeit slowly...to world's religions.

Yep. We're just millions - dare I say billions...of kittens that are just plodding along, waiting for education and knowledge to erase the myths of the #Religulous. Waiting for them to Devolve.

@DangerDave

#1; You're right; I do blog! Very observant of you....go to www.Robecology.Blogspot.com and chose a topic.

Funny, though...I don't think I've blogged about Agnosticism/ Atheism.(A/A)....but you inspire me to do so.

#2. I'm sad you've found " many overly and overtly hostile atheists, on this site and elsewhere".

That hasn't been my experience. I've found many religious (I prefer to call them #Religulous) folk who've gotten hostile - but seldom - if ever - do I recall a defensive/aggressive A/A.

So fight back that dementia...(you appear to be far too young to have that issue - I'm far closer to that condition than you...but I digress)....put on your research cap, and find me links/examples of A/A folk who've been nasty/rude/or otherwise absurdly angry about their position. Please?
