Can’t have it both ways. When Bernie talks about Democratic Socialist the Republicans yell “socialism “. When Bernie talks Universal Healthcare (like every other industrialized country) Republicans yell “socialism”. Anyone who thinks our current system, with unchecked capitalism, is working is a fool. People having to work two jobs, people having any major medical problems are going to go broke, the gap between the rich and poor continues to grow... All of that because fool voters continue to vote in corporate whore politicians who have the interest of their sociopath big donors in mind. We are seeing the results of unchecked capitalism and it is destructive. Yes we need more socialism to keep capitalism in check

@Rudy1962 I have to agree with some of what you say. Unchecked capitalism has many problems and abuses. And I think we are long overdue for some type of universal healthcare. The issue is too many young adults have not been taught accurate history. So they are unaware of the dangers of Socialism. In socialism, someone has to direct the economy. That creates an elite class that controls everything. The old line (I'm not sure of the exact wording) "from everyone according to their ability, to everyone according to their needs". It sounds great sitting around a dorm room smoking pot, but it ignores the reality of human nature. Humans are NOT hive insects. They are individuals that will generally act in their own best interest. There are those that will ignore all rules and just take what they want from those weaker than them. And there are those that will take societies "Safety Net" and turn it into a hammock.
