Before Amazon switched to their own carrier I got USPS packages the next day. FedEx was usually on time but the UPS driver was an ass. He'd leave my packages out on a stump next to the road because the neighbor dog, who runs the neighborhood, ran up to his truck once. I know her and I've never heard her growl or even bark she's just nosy and friendly.
Just read that AMAZON delivery will surpass UPS & FedEx in deliveries by the end of 2022. Have never seen an Amazon delivery truck down here, & I average 2-3 Amazon deliveries a week. My Dad worked for USPS & he's probably rolling over in his grave how bad they have become.
@ChurchLess I think Amazon delivery was created because Trump kept griping about the post office being too cheap on Amazon. In other words the demise of the post office was definitely pushed forward by Trump.
More than likely, your area has been deemed too expensive for Amazon delivery so they have left it to the USPS.
@Lorajay Actually as you know the internet destroyed the volume of mail that arrives in our mailbox enough to make it pay for itself? Almost everything I receive in my mailbox is now junk mail and small items I purchase from Amazon or another vendor. I notice that they sometimes deliver items too large to fit in the box.
About the only thing I mail today, is a birthday card to my son & an alimony check to my EX (ick).
When's the last time you went to the postoffice? They are trying to close postoffices here for lack of business. I do notice however, when I go there the PO Boxes have a lot of use.
