The whole world was completely different 200+ years ago. There was no way for them to know what the world would be like today. They weren't sure there would even be a United States today. Our law of the land, so to speak, is outdated and we have no easy way to change it.

The gun people use the 2nd amendment like it was unequivocally on their side. It is not and the lst Supreme Court ruling also said regulations were allowed.
