It's a known flaw in the forum software, and seems to happen with some words more than others. It often seems to remove the letters T H I N (in a row, so that T H I N disappears completely, while T H I N G and T H I N K become just G and K.)

I recently had a post where every occurrence of C A T H O L I C went missing. Kinda problematic, given the subject matter.

You edit them to fix them, but then it often goes and happens again.

Spaces included above so that it doesn't happen to my examples.

Yes - the first word went missing from one of my posts.

I quite often think I have checked spelling and grammar before posting and then as soon as it appears on site I realise I have missed something. At least we can edit.

Unless you have encountered our fat virus. It has kleptomania and so steals all your th ins. So words like th ink, wit hin, th ing, all have to be spelt with a space in them. I also have thing od frequently stolen which results in some strange naked words like ---bothering, ---less, ---ly and that misused epithet that takes my name in vain "good ---"

At the moment I'm getting inexplicable winking smily faces preceded by a code in my posts/comments. I can assure you I have no idea how to insert a smily face anywhere.

I thought my phone was faulty or my Internet connection was faulty. I've noticed this problem many times on my own posts.. I don't know what could cause it.

I know the problem. Most likely to happen after a couple of bears (hic!)
