George passed away almost 4 years ago. He was a people person. Our home was always full. Family & friends, anytime anything was going on, it was here. Holidays, birthdays, daily BBQs, it was a given. No one comes here now. I am comfortable with myself. I really like me. I am not even really lonely. Just, sometimes, I miss this.

I can sure relate to this. The past two years were so full of doctor's visits, tests, trying new medications, friends stopping in to see how we were holding up. Now I don't have anyone to take care of anymore, the friends still call to say hi, but nobody comes by like they used to. I'm getting better at being by myself, but it is hard some days. I miss him in my life. I understand completely. Hugs to you.

Yes, I can identify with what you say. I too used to have a pretty full house at one time, but have like you, adjusted to living on my own quite well. We all go through these changes at some time or another, and it seems you are happy now in your own company, but just now and again yearn for the old days. What I do occasionally is invite a few friends to come over for drinks and a light meal...either lunch or supper, this keeps my hostessing and housekeeping skills up to date!
