I am trying to keep busy even more so than usual.BUT Jan 14 ( Lost my love last Jan 14) is fast approaching. Im in a new town / state feeling lost , scared, alone and even more heartbroken. Any ideas? How do you cope on that terrible anniversary?

Thank you everyone ! Just writing this to you all and finding all these replyโ€™s when I woke up really helped. You know exactly how I feel. I agree With - what a sucky club we are in.

Look for volunteer opportunities> By helping others we often help ourselves

It's just a calendar. ..give yourself some credit. ...you are already coping well venting here....celebrate good memories and admit the cause of death hurts our guts so bad to drive us towards prevention and cures. ...grief energizes everything we choose

I lost George on my birthday almost 4 years ago. That first year was the hardest. It gets easier to deal with, but, that is a different kind of sadness.

Try to find a way to be around people. Not perfect, but I found it helps.

Thanks I keep thinking all I really want to do is go to bed and stay there for a week. I do not think I will because I have a job - but at this time thatโ€™s what I wish I could do. The closer it gets the more panicked I get.
