Have all of you had the conversation with your next of kin about your final wishes? My daughters biological father never mentioned anything to her and she was his only child. When he unexpectedly had a massive heart attack she had no idea what to do. She told me I had always been so open about end of life decisions that she knew my wishes. A living will is the best option. You can download them free. Just a thought.

I have an end of life directive and both my executor and daughter know and are on my POA health directive. Funny you should ask as I have just been informed that a younger brother who has tongue cancer is in the hospital with a feeding and breathing tube as the cancer has spread. He is a lawyer and I asked another brother about an end of life directive. So far no word (this is in Texass).

In my state (CA) a will states your wishes but has to go though probate court which requires lawyers and time. A better way is a Living Trust. Maybe that's what you meant?

In Ky you can avoid probate by having two little words in your will. In survivorship.
