Thanks so much for posting this. I love Wales and the real Welsh that I met charmed and welcomed me as a fellow mountain man. I'd find them in remote places often talking CB radio to friends in Welsh but switch to English to chat with me.

@DaisyMaeNot The last two times I visited the "Celtic Islands" I went for 10 months each. I rented through the winter, first in the Cotswolds and second time in Galloway in Scotland. Both places had very mild winters. Both had wonderful walking country.
@rogerbenham You remind me of my parents who for 50 years after a fortnight's honeymoon in the Lake District continued to regularly visit & walk for 50 years. There will still parts they had never explored and it's only about a 50 miles wide circle.
Always made me laugh at the rubber-necking yanks boasting of doing Europe in ten days!
