Magne ‘Mags’ Furuholmen isn’t the main vocalist in a-ha…he leaves that to the band mate who can really sing, but Mags is a brilliant musician and songwriter. He wrote this song for the 2001 Norwegian Movie Oyenstikker or Dragonfly in English…and although a-ha did a cover version with Morten on vocals, I think the less polished fragility of Magne’s voice on the original film version is really charming and fits better the rustic quality and subject matter ….what do you think?

….the movie starred Swedish actor Mikael Persbrandt…..yet another Scandinavian hottie!

It's a tough call because I like both of them! But it was a nice intro to Mags' voice.

Glad you enjoyed both…I like them both too. Mags voice suits many of the songs he writes for a-ha too, probably because he sings and performs them first himself, but they usually end up being much more polished and epic when sung in Morten’s expansive octave range. Mags does actually record some songs under his own name too, which don’t really sound anything at all like a-ha…without Morten’s voice nothing would sound like a-ha…he is the voice of the band and he is their recognisable signature sound.
