@Marionville Marje, I know you are familiar with Dmitri Hvorostovsky; see if you (like me) perceive a great likeness in facial structure, gaze directness, the way he looks around while singing, and bearing. I enjoyed simply watching this Leonid Kharitonov, beside wonderful voice. I am very familiar with the song but had never seen any footage.

I love it! A long time ago I posted a song by Dmitri Hvorostovsky called "Cranes". It's the one I like the most, and if you go through the lyrics it will make you cry like a baby!

Yes...Dede I do see what you mean...if you can just change that dark hair there is definitely a similarity between him and Dimitri. I can see it in the set of his shoulders and his gaze. Great post...I do know this song of course. My father loved the Red Army ensemble...both the singers and the Cossack dancers
