I just saw a billboard that said, "Discover why Jesus created you." with a phone number to call. Now, I haven't followed Christianity for a long time, but wasn't it God who created man, not Jesus? Do believers not even know the basic premise of their religion anymore?
Well, in the gospel of John, Jesus was turned into their almighty god. John 1:1: In the beginning was the Word (ie Jesus), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. So, to them, it makes perfect sense to say Jesus created everything. The doctrine of the Trinity was supposed to clear it all up--which it didn't.
Ah yes, the book of make believe.
@Kynlei Unfortunately, the majority of them don't know this. I was raised to think that the "infallible" gospels were written by the people they were named for, inspired by this god, of course; and that they were preserved as originally written, only needing to be translated into other languages. Learning more about the Bible, and how it came to be, was another step in my journey away from belief.
@Kynlei: The version I heard was "god answers all prayers; but, sometimes, the answer is no." Which, of course, is contradictory to the bible which states that all you have to do is ask in Jesus' name and it will be given to you. Of course, they always get out of that one by saying that a person's faith just wasn't strong enough. As a child, I recall my mother having a prayer session with my deaf aunt--praying in Jesus' name for her hearing to be restored. Of course, it wasn't. And, it wasn't for a lack of faith--it was for lack of the existence of their god. Unfortunately, it took me several years to figure that out.
Well, the bible is a confusing book, which us why a good god is not the AUTHOR of it....in one place it says that god will judge us, in another place, the son, and yet another we will judge ourselves....I twisted things, trying to make it work for 30+ years, but contradictions don't work.
.... And man created God... So many to choose from.
Posted by CliffordCookI groaned when I saw this Christian Nationalist Christmas meme posted by one of Donald Trump's supporters in Iowa. Then, I smiled when I saw how many of his Facebook friends had reposted it.

Posted by CliffordCookChristians like to believe that their religion spread around the world by people voluntarily abandoning their own cultural traditions in favor of the obvious superiority of Christianity.
