Something you posted reminded of a discussion I had with an Evangelical. He was constantly insisting on homosexuality being a sin. I asked him if his ten year old daughter had ever been disrespectful and defiant. He says yes. I asked him why hasn't he stoned her yet. I said it's in the old testament along with the prohibition against homosexuality. I got the most silence and blank staresI'd ever gotten from him since I started working with him. To sum it up. They love to Cherry pick.

Reminds me of an old joke:
A pastor and 2 members were out golfing. The first guy slices the ball and swears "damn it, I missed."
The pastor said "You shouldn't talk like that. God will get you for that."
The second guy winds up with his ball 2 feet from the hole. Being over confident, he messes up the shot and says "damn it I missed."
The pastor said "You shouldn't talk like that.God will get you."
The sky darkens and a lightning bolt comes down and hits the pastor.
And a voice from heaven says "damn it, I missed."
