Have you noticed, FrayedBear, that political comedy has almost disappeared from mainstream Australia? At least it seems to me. I think back to the 80s and 90s, Max Gilles, etc, when political comedy used to be around. In humorless Australia, no longer. Of course, the world now is very different. Generally though, I think Australians are less irreverent than they used to be.

Agreed. I've watched the demise of Australian standards for more than 40 years now. From working ethos and conditions, political corruption through to outright lying, cheating and theft all occurring with impunity because no one is fit to cast the first stone. Just look at what has happened to Shane Dowling and Julian Assange.
