We've known for a long time about pedophilia and rape in general in the catholic church and neither been taken seriously. However what did John Howard or Tony Abbott do that showed they're trustworthy? Gun buyback? That was poorly investigated, was a way to disarm Australians, the shooter in most likeliness didn't do it and the guns were bought back cheaper (or found when buried) later told by the police who did the buybacks. Gun attacks temporarily went up two years later and were declining beforehand. He gave weapons back to ASIO an organisation with a history of killing civilians in tests. He also stole being PM and was not voted in by Australian citizens but by his own government with slight majority. He made it his public mission to remove medicare and anything else 'socialist' through one way or another. He was a reckless spender when he could've not frittered away the coal boom... He pushed us out of being a renewables country. Tony Abbott with stop the boats and a BS campaign and indefinite detention of refugees? Cut school funding except for his daughter? Cuts to the ABC? Privatisation and deregulation? Another term of Keating could've been revolutionary...
This makes me sad.

Sin is in the eye of the abuser.

Did you omit the ? Or simply have your word corrector change from "abused" to "abuser"?

@FrayedBear Neither. I'm trying to say that the abuser sees marriage equality as sinful, but does not see his act of abuse as sinful.

Catholic?

Abbot was going to be a priest. Howard from memory is staunchly Anglican....mind you they are hiding lots of dirt as well.

@FrayedBear Anglican is just about Catholic-- lol

Hypocritical bunch of tosses to me. Thankfully those two won’t be in the big chair anytime soon but I guess the rearguard are preparing to march. At least it’s in the open and colours are tied to their respective masts.

And to add insult to injury -

What nonsense. The Vatican never retiring in finding ways to save a few bucks and fragments of reputation. Let’’S not stand by our brother even if he is an obnoxious, sanctimonious paedophile. After all it is the tacet paragraph in the job description. We won’t back him and do a Jesus by asking for a first stone thrower. We don’t want the scandal so we’ll let the congregation pay for his sins! We can hang him out to dry because he’s not like the rest our holy enclave. F...ing unreal!

@Geoffrey51 Because they cannot get God in the witness box, and let's face it he raped a virgin to produce his son leaving poor old Joseph the cuckold, so what value is his testimony, the whole sorry mess is a just that - a mess!

Hey, you're not kidding with that post/meme mate.
I got a knock on my door this morning, opened it to find 2 crows ( Catholic Priests) asking for donations to Paedo Pell's Appeal Fund, I'll leave it up to your imagination as what I told them they'd get from.

@Triphid 2 Ice creams, a cup of tea and 2 red hot pokers to be put where the sun doesn't shine?

@FrayedBear Nope, my size 10 steel toed boot, toe end first at a very fast velocity directed at their 'family jewels' first followed by a quick heave-ho over my front fence.
However not in such polite terms though.

@Triphid I hope that I was the corrugated iron fence with the top edge honed razor sharp with the angle grinder then hacked into saw-like spikes! ?

@FrayedBear Nope, mine is a wire netting fence with nice neat twists of tie-wire made into the shape of barbs to hold it to the main stay wire between post and climbing roses with very nasty sharp thorns to boot all over it, quite a few stray cats have screeched very loudly when trying to climb over it and have even had the odd 'un-invited' guest, aka prowler, etc, get their ' family jewels' caught as well.
The neighbours tell that they love it in spring when it bursts into bloom with masses of red flowers on a green background though.
