What in the name of sanity is wrong these Hardcore Vegans who are now carrying on like headless chickens BECAUSE ALL the Bunnings' Stores Australia -wide will holding a Sausage Sizzle to raise funds for people affected by the Bush fires.
They vegans claim that it IS wrong because farming animals for meat production IS the Cause of Climate Change.
Odds on they have forgotten that ALL the artificial fertilizers that Vegetable Growers dump on their paddocks season after season, year after year to SUPPLY them with their beloved vegies are destroying the land, the water supplies, poisoning rivers and even the seas and oceans as well.
And that the Factories making these Artificial Fertilizers are pumping Greenhouse Gases into the atmosphere tons at a time just as the Factories that turn Soy beans into products such as Tofu, etc, FOR THEM are also doing.
It would be interesting to know how many of the Hardcore Vegans have been on the front-line in the last few weeks risking life and limb fighting these Bush Fires to try to save homes, animals and people, etc.
We do live in the age of social justice and environment warriors, don't we. It's not that I do not support progressive policies on such issues, i do, but the zealotry of the fringe harms rather than helps. It seems to have been like this since the 60s. I recall in the 70s and 80s womens movement for equality, which i have always supported, but still running up against the zealots for whom nothing could placate their anger. But the mainstream womens movement went on to make great changes and still is.
As for sausages, yuk, never eat them. Full of crap, environmentally friendly or not.
Hey, I've always been one in support of Gender Equality and socially based matters BUT, in my opinion, ALL of this HYPE of trying to convert people to becoming Herbivorous instead of the Omnivorous species we evolved to be smacks of a kind of the "You are either with US or Against US" ideology and I, for one, will not be influenced by such an ideology in any way, shape nor form.
Probably quite a few because in many cases fighting the fires is as deluded as fighting carnivorous habits.
What is also deluded is building dwellings in the middle of dense combustiable material like forests in hot dry climates and expect it not to burn.
Hebel blocks have a 4 hour fire rating.
That may be so BUT of all the Firies I've ever known 0% of them have been vegans/vegetarians.
And, in my opinion, there IS nothing delusional about fighting raging Bush Fires, FrayedBear, for man has always tried to make fire into his 'good' little servant' but fire knows no Master nor acknowledges one either.
Yes, it is crazy to build homes, etc, in forests, etc, BUT humans will always do crazy things won't they?
@Triphid Stoopid seems to go with the breed.
