EDIT: I don't want to take credit for somebody else's work. Here is the original post:

That gives me incentive to go for that. I have a 600mm lens but I have never gotten close enough for those close ups at the end.

Great catch with the camera. I have seen them do this in life, but not in this detail. There are several nest of these around during the spring and early summer. I have to go through my pictures and post them for people to view.

Good pics the 2nd one really shows the intense concentration of the hunt . I have ospreys on the creek where I live and could never see that in real time .

Where were those photos taken? What camera equipment and settings did you use? I've seen these, or similar photos online.

My cousin shared a post with me on Facebook. Here is the link:

@Fit-50something Oh. I thought photos had to be taken by the poster. Otherwise people can just fill the forum with random photos copied off the internet.

@birdingnut I did not know that. I'm not a member of this group. I had posted the photos in a different group, and it was recommended that I share them elsewhere. Apologies if I broke the rules.

@Fit-50something The purpose of most bird photography forums is to compare one's own photos and stories with those of our peers. There are plenty of professional photographs online, so amateur photographers want to showcase their own work, tell stories of their bird discoveries. Still, new people here do sometimes post photos they copied off the web, usually without crediting the original photographer, trying to appear to be the one who took the photos. I usually just ignore them.

@birdingnut One has to be careful of copyright law.
