Spiritual Atheism - The Center for Spiritual Atheism (link)
and Agnosticism and Apatheism and... - me

Spirituality means many things to each of us: falling in love, pursuing a passion, peaceful relaxation and other "phenomena" which need no explanation because it's usually just a futility in explaining them.

Paranormal? Beyond the hoaxes and woo there ARE unexplained phenomena. I've experienced a few...don't get me started.

Most important to me as an artist is not so much what IS as what COULD BE. I "transcend" to worlds where dragons are real, magic (and magick) work to varying degrees, oh...and I create the gods there too.

I easily suspend disbelief or, more precisely feel the mood, act the part. I was 'trained' as a teen by a coven of Xian witches. As so many they had nothing to do with whatever Xian witches were established at that time. Practice a fertility ritual with everyone on birth control? I'm in!

These rituals were more "spiritual" for me than their various tarot, rune and crystal readings but sometimes they had some interesting insights into a situation.

I won't go into the many areas of my life I deem "spiritual" but I percieve myself more as energy than matter. Fits with the latest scientific conceptions, if that matters.

To me being spiritual means having deep awareness, awe and appreciation for the beauty and mystery of existence.

You are correct—science backs up spirituality in many ways, and the most creative scientists have been deeply spiritual. Spirituality is, in fact, the impetus for science, art, religion, and all areas of human creativity.

You seem to be a likely person with whom to share this link. Some very deep insights come forth, insights that mirror much of my own thinking, and some startling and exciting ideas that go beyond.

An intriguing YouTube video that mirrors and expands my thinking:

On second thought, maybe you were the one who recommended that video to ME.

Being spiritual atheist is for me like those who claim to fight for peace or fuck for virginity, just another attempt to abandon logic when it gets in the way of what you want to believe.

Before there is even an attempt to discuss this there must be a common frame of reference and in this case that must be a hard line definition of what every one in the conversation accepts as the definition of "spiritual" in this context.

Without that we are all just screaming in to the storm.

@DangerDave
Considering or believing don't enter in to it
Which is exactly my point, if you are going to discuss spirituality you can't have multiple definitions, or else you are talking at cross purposes.
If lion to me means a ten foot long carnivore with huge teeth and claws, but to you means a fluffy soft toy you have had since birth, and you tell me you take your lion to bed with you every night, I'm not going to believe you.
A common frame of reference has to be established first, it doesn't matter if it is yours or mine just for the purpose of conversation you need this common ground at least temporarily.
Ten people in a group all claiming to be spiritual atheists without a common frame of reference can only lead to chaos and achieve nothing.

Traditionally spirituality is a religious terms, associated with the incorporeal and the paranormal, often it is a simile for supernatural. But in the modern era it mean anything from being a Buddhist, to a hippie, to a tree hugger to a drunk or a drug addict.

@DangerDave
What are you talking about, I did not define spirituality, I gave a traditional definition and then discredited it by giving examples of modern variations.

You either being deliberately combative, or wilfully ignorant, either way it it is a waste of my time to engage with you further, I leave my comments open for those others who might wish to discuss them.
