Got 14 drawstring bags done. I sew by hand, so it takes me a while. This took about seven hours.

I hate all the waste. The paper will not burn easily and is not recyclable.
@Annaleda I do, too...plus, I am trying to use up my huge stash of fabrics...I just don't sew as much as I used to...I have closets of fabric...

My granny was a hoarder. So my mom has so much fabric. We try and use it for everything.
Not saying you should get rid of it, but we donated a bunch to the cancer center my mom goes to. They make quilts for cancer patients.
@Annaleda I have donated to our local creative re-use...the take everything craft/sewing and then sells it so cheap...I am also making blankets for the Linus project, humane society and quilt for kids...still not going down much, but I am trying!

We have a place called MECCA (Material Exchange Center for Community Arts.
I love it. I get all my book making paper and boards there. Sounds like your store. 
I should have been more specific. But I was tired.
I made these bags for Xmas wrapping.
I hope to have at least 30, as I have 1 Mom, 1 daughter, 1 son, 2 sisters, 1 brother, 3 grandkids, 4 nieces, 3 nephews, 2 grandnieces, and a grandnephew.
I am really trying to shrink my resource footprint. So much paper is used every holiday. And it does not burn well.
I made two bags from a pair of flannel pants. I made ten bags from material I got on clearance. I made two bags from scraps from a project of someone else’s—these were triangular in shape, and I made them into squares first, then bags.
For birthdays or other gifts, I have made drawstring bags for years. Out of my scraps. Time to step it up.
