My favorite kind of Christian is one that says, "I hope you find God one day," and leaves it at that, and continues being my friend.That is a "true" Christian, in my opinion. It is true that perhaps I'll find god one day, and vice versa perhaps he or she stops believing. I have met Christians who were raised atheist. You never know where a person's beliefs are going to be throughout their life.
What I find particularly interesting is how William Murray, son of American Atheists' founder Madalyn O'Haire, has become such an active Christian despite his mom's activism in the atheist community. She was very harsh when he converted to Christianity. "Learning of his conversion, his mother commented: 'One could call this a postnatal abortion on the part of a mother, I guess; I repudiate him entirely and completely for now and all times. He is beyond human forgiveness.'"
