Reflections at 60

Yes, it's that day and I truly wish my body wasn't the only part of me that so far seems to notice. Facing a strong possibility of a brain tumor...well, that's another story...

With no overt physical pain I'm still thinking, continuously and, as usual, superfluously. I'd still rather create the gods than argue their existence...and have no interest in any argument of by whom, to what degree,...

You take the good with the bad...and since I'm taking the "awesome" today with probably too much weed, food and good company...at least I'm not drinking!

Happy birthday. I hope you can enjoy each day for its own sake until you know for sure about the tumor. Fretting about it won't change the outcome -- says the champion fretter. As we age, I think we need to cherish the good and put the bad in perspective. I hope the news is more positive than you anticipate.

As long as you do no harm to others, believe whatever makes you happy. Life (for us all) is short.

Sorry about the "strong possibility of a brain tumor."

Reminds me of a good friend's grandparent.

His doctor told the grandfather that his test results indicated cancer. The grandparent asked (what I would consider to be the correct question) "What would YOU do if you were in my shoes?" The doctor responded, we could treat you and probably give you another six months of life etc. . . .

The grandparent repeated his question. . . The doctor responded, "The moment we begin treatment, your quality of life will be over. If I were you, I would not treat the cancer and enjoy each of your remaining days." The grandparent died a few months later.
