Very interesting ... I think we are currently in some ways sliding backwards. Or we were always in the same place but media and cultural "sets" in the theatre of life were moved around enough to give the impression of change. Where as It appears the same undercurrents were prevalent in society but driven underground by the "politically correct" sphere. This current period is almost a backlash or defensive counterpunch from the old guard in my view. It is very sad to see these kind of observations in some ways, but in another way it proves the old matriarchal structures are if not fully crumbling, under threat. They feel they have to counter change.. Which means change is coming like a tsunami. It is a sad fact the Potus ever got in. In Downing Street UK we have a milder Thatcher in May. We have conservative MP's in this country who are Lesbian and never even turn up to house of commons meetings or parliament bills on LBGT issue's.. Because they are career minded. We have a female Prime Minister who is more male in her actions than our last male Prime Minister .. so in the uk we are having old values reiterated .. Its good to see a female run our country however she is by no stretch of the imagination going to be a women's rights campaigner. I think maybe we are going to go around in circles a little bit more before it levels out. The only positive thing I can see from the current position is that now we know exactly who the bigots and sexist people are. They have all become very vocal where as they were covertly sneaking about being bigots between themselves in private for fear of being exposed as UN-PC ... Now that little charade is over we know where we stand ... The last 20 yrs in my opinion has shown a lot of progress and also some stagnation. I think the fact that authors are writing books where women are threatened is a very disturbing reflection, although also a true representation of some women's lives I know.. People I support and actively help / counsel out of love / respect / for no gain in any form. It needs to be recorded as a historical point, although too much concentration on that fact is not healthy for change propagation in my view.. I think we will go back and forth a while more. We will make more ground again as the head of the nonsense is exposed, but cutting it off isn't that simple it seems
