There are tons of videos of cops escalating violence. Beating protestors just for protesting. They are going to learn when 10,000 people surround them and beat the life out of them. One protester knocked a cop out cold for the cop swatting his hand.

The police must join the protesters. Otherwise the civil unrest will get worse.

It isn't a weakness to be polite in dealings with the public, and any properly trained officer can show a firm atttitude, whilst still being both polite and respectful in all situations.

However, it is wrong to assume that every dealing between a white police officer and a black person is racist; the white offiers are just as likely to have to put up with racist abuse, amidst wrongful complaints being made against them.

Such spurious complaints reduces the likelihood of true complaints being believed , and blacks are more likely to be stopped, as they commit proportionately more crimes. Going on the rampage and looting, as well as commiting acts of criminal damage and arson, is not going to help change the attitudes of some police officers, when they see this knee-jerk reaction to a wrongful killing.

The police officers who stood by and did nothing, ought to be arrested as being accessories to murder. This ought to be the case whenever the police's actions in an arrest are disproportionate and unnecessary.

I once worked for a manager who admitted to me, in private, that he was racist, but you would never have known from his interactions with persons of any colour. He was as courteous, kind and respectful to them, and treated them in exactly the same way as he did with white people. That is what professionalism is all about; you set aside any biases, prejudices, conceits, and racist thoughts aside and treat everyone you meet with kindness, respect and politeness.

What is needed is for professionalism to be rigidly enforced. When incidents such as this occur, it is clear that those officers responsible for managing and overseeing the cops on the beat, are not doing their job in making sure that their subordinates are adhering to police standards. They ought to be facing discipline, too, if they cannot control their subordinates.

This is just a microcosm of life in the USA. What black and white people need to honestly ask themselves is what they want for the future of society? Can both sides work together to put aside differences, be they: social, political, racial, ethnical, cultural and ethical. Or do they admit that they cannot live together, and see how they can segregate themselves to benefit everyone. Because you can no longer continue with a situation where white policer officers are reckless as to whether they kill black people, and black people neeed to get a grip of those who make false claims of racism, and those blacks who hold racist attitudes toward whites.

Wow, maybe they are figuring out that cooperation and deescalation work better than antagonism and brute force.

Maybe they will learn that waging war on the citizens they are meant to protect with a militarized police force isn't the best strategy.

That's a smart move... I'm seeing it on the news..
