This brought to mind...how my early indoctrination of the Baptist Religion help enslave me, at a time that I needed to care for my own well-being! I was able to bring my thinking about religion to my therapist and that changed me over time. Eventually, I existed religion all together, not because I was told to do so...I evolved out of it! But, my discussions about religion with my therapist made all the difference, as I have known no other place that I could bare my innards, and not be judged!

You need some outside support right now. Don’t be afraid of your emotions, even if the intensity feels overwhelming. Until you can get more help to sort this out, get out in nature and be sure that you are getting proper nutrition (fruits and veg and not junk foods) and plenty of water. This is tricky...why does the child hate its parent? Is there abuse involved? I do not think it will be that helpful to tell the parent. Back in the day, when I had small children, I understood so little about the emotional nature of mine or anyone else’s children...that is why I don’t think it will help much. I would encourage the child to explain why he hates his/her parent. And, it could be that the child has misinterpreted actions meant to keep him/her safe. And this might be delivered without care and tenderness. So the child believes he/she is not a good child/person. A child needs a balance of correcting with love and acceptance. The situation that you have brought here is not easily sorted out. A lot more information is needed. But, there is no good reason for you to not show love and appreciation to this child. And if you see where you can help this child to understand his feelings of hate toward the parent, then help the child. Maybe, you should stay alert to see if there is abuse happening here and if so, you would need to report that.
