I bought this gas fireplace a few days ago. There’s a tag inside the cabinet, with the serial number, and signature of the cabinet maker that assembled it, but no date or manufacturer’s name. From its Art Deco style, I’m guessing it’s 29 - 40 years newer than the lamps you saw.

I think Obama’s presidency ignited the (semi) sleeping racists. I think Trump has legitimized those people. Demographically, I’ve heard that the Democratic Party is gaining two members for every one the the Republicans lose. I think we’re at a tipping point, where the white, Supremecists will start to decrease, one death at a time.

Haemish1 comments on Jul 16, 2019:
It’s difficult to compare my childhood to my daughter’s. I was one of the original latchkey kids - I was on my own after school from second grade on. My daughter never walked to school until she was in Jr. High, and rarely left the house to roam about without a parent, in a small town in Montana, compared to me riding my bike miles away from home, in suburban Denver. As a student at Vassar now, she navigates the subways in NYC with ease, she’s comfortable on a mountain trail as well as a concert hall or art gallery. (Like the time she said “that’s an original Picasso you just walked past, Dad:/) Kids are smart, creative and resilient - they’ll develop the skills they need, regardless of the handicaps we place on them.

I enjoyed some of the messages of love and caring for your neighbors, but still never accepted any of the Christian dogma. I never really considered if I were an atheist or not, I just couldn’t rationally accept the majority of the Bible.
