Define "normal". For me, normal takes a shift from time to time. My hope for 2019 is that order is restored, intelligence, truth, compassion, tolerance, and kindness will become the norm in the government and in life all around. I never make New Year's Resolutions. During the year if I feel a change is needed, I do it then. I stopped eating sugar about mid year, and after I stopped working I have started exercising. I have made good progress towards my goal. I did have sweets at Thanksgiving and Christmas, but the cookies that my daughter sent home with me did not make it into the house.They were intercepted by the trash can outside the garage.

What worked was that I gave up sugar this last part of this past year and started exercising regularly. Net result was a weight loss and size loss. I may need new jeans again soon. Which is a good thing except what didn't work was my job and I've been unemployed since September. I have not seriously looked until just recently and I have an interview scheduled for Wednesday. What else didn't work was not addressing the stress my job was causing me until almost too late. In the future I will try to be more proactive about issues I'm having with my job. My timing for being off was bad, due to the stock market my finances took a harder hit than I expected. And my car is having issues. After I get back to work I may need to replace the car, which I hate to do but it is 12 years old.

I have a job interview on Wednesday. I've been out of work since Sept 7th. I chose to resign rather than be fired eventually, and had a family crisis to deal with, so the time off was great. In fact I have loved being off, I got so much stuff done! Just not loving the no money part. So, I have great hopes for the interview, perfect location, good employers, and the type of work I want to do.

Were you the first baby born at that hospital for the new year? Hospitals used to make a big deal out of that, maybe they still do, I just don't read the local papers.

I can't do coloring books, I have tried. It makes my anxiety worse! I will sew, crochet, knit, or embroider, all those I find relaxing. I will write, that is relaxing also. I find reading relaxing. But OMG, coloring books make me feel like I am possessed by demons!
