Here looking for like minded people to get to know. Tired of the closed-minded and miseducated. I find some folks don't know quite what to think of my religious background. I was born to parents raised in the southern Christian tradition. I remember church with gospel choirs, and tamborines. Growing up in NYC I remember attending Catholic school, my first communion and baptism. In 1977, my Christian turned Catholic mother became a member of the Nation of Islam. I began learning Arabic and the ways of a Muslim woman. My name was changed to Aqila Abdullah ( meaning intelligent, servant of god). Sometime in the 80's my mother flopped back into Christianty of the Pentecost/Fundamentalist variety. I know now that I have always been an Atheist because we are all born atheist
