I felt her warm soft body next to mine, as we snuggled under the bed covers on a cold winter ...
Lincoln55 comments on Jul 15, 2019:
Why? Is it the memory of the snuggling or is it another source. In and of itself, I do love the second line. That truth triggered a memory of my own.

HMMMMMMMMM! By Tom Norman it seems i've lost my words . writing even a short poem is more of an ordeal than I ever remember it being i used to be able to rattle off a couple of paragraphs about whatever i was thinking at the moment with only a little fixing afterwards, now i seem to stumble through saying something. it's awkwardly worded. i’m not sure how to fix it i have trouble remembering names, remembering the word I'm looking for It happens just a little too frequently for comfort. so forgive me for not telling you sooner or with each poem i post tom (Imagine what a real poet could have done with these words. A real poet like Mary or Tom Norman)

My beautiful Greektown and Mexicantown and Poleville in Hamtramack and the New Middle East in Dearborn. It's the Fabulous Fox and The Fillmore and The Majestic and The Masonic Temple and Jack White's 'Third Man Records and Ford Field and Comerica Park and Little Ceasars Arena and street musicians at Campus Martius and The Riverwalk. The tin roof cabin. Home for 3 months
The view from Mount Pisgah.
Lincoln55 comments on Jul 12, 2019:
The largest and oldest Rainforest in the country. I stayed in a two story cabin with a screened porch, a wood stove and a tin roof. It rained for 14 straight days. I was off the entire time. Writing stories on a laptop with no internet connection, no TV and no cellphone reception except late at night.. I went to town to an Ingles with internet once a week. It was glorious. In between rainstorms the moisture would descend in a mist. I would put my camera in a one gallon plastic bag and take hikes up the mountain. I wore swim trunks, hiking sandals and a T shirt. I would be soaked to the skin in 20 minutes. I didn't care. There was a shed, beside a brook that was overflowing in places, black rocks worn smooth by rushing water. The shed had a covered porch and an Adirondack chair. I would roll one and watch the rabbits that came out to eat the red clover in the mist. I was uphill so they could not catch my scent. Katydids and bluejays would serenade Who needs internet and Tv when you got 24 hour singing sky?

Lincoln55 comments on Jul 11, 2019:
Where was the demonstration? I got a friend in Tampa that sits behind a computer drinking beer all night and ranting on FB. He thinks he's a FB activist. I need to tell him to contact you guys, make some signs and hit the streets. He can't be an activist if he's sitting on his ass drinking beer.

Lincoln55 comments on Jul 11, 2019:
Interesting little aside here. Photo #2 is the best photo for detail and background. The light is coming from the Canadian side. #3, #4, #5 and #6, I had to lighten every shot to bring out detail. Because the light was coming from the USA side. What am I saying. The only thing that photography does is capture light. That's it.

Lincoln55 comments on Jul 10, 2019:
Right on @lerlo. Anyone that has been here for a while knows all about my soft spot for Detroit. Here's another version of the same song, featuring Big Sean. Normally I would say that I am not a rap fan but that's because my hearing is not primo these days and rap is just too fast for me to translate in this 'Old Guy' head. But Big Sean was kind enough to put the words on the screen for me. In the end, rap is just street poetry which doesn't make it much different than my Street Photography. So heres my message to the Rap moguls - Slow that shit down and throw the words up on the screen and I'll be a fan too. Promise. Rap-for-old-dudes.com https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bAIDXo00wCE

Lincoln55 comments on Jul 5, 2019:
I can understand your pride in Great-Great-Great Granny Bonaparte, she sounds like a true pioneer. This has been a real education. I was skeptical at first, having embraced the whole Wright Brothers scenario since I was a child. But I like to think I am capable of growth. Imagine my surprise when POTUS verified your accout in his 4th of July speech, "Our Army manned the air, it rammed the ramparts, it took over the airports, it did everything it had to do, and at Fort McHenry, under the rocket's red glare it had nothing but victory." Well, live and learn. That whole Wright Brothers schtick was just a truckload of Fake News. Thanks for the enlightenment. BTW, great genes there.
