Man, 72, South Australia, Australia
The first part of my working life was spent in various labouring jobs in different parts of Australia. The last part was spent in the administration of non-profit organisations in the health field. I was raised as a Catholic but have rejected all religion since my late teens.
I am now retired and living on the old age pension, killing time while waiting for it to kill me.
I am interested in most social issues but my three main interests are history, literature and sport.
I believe that the universe is completely indifferent to us and that's the best thing about it.
"For mankind is ever the same and nothing is lost out of nature though everything is altered." (Dryden)
"As flies to wanton boys are we to the gods. They kill us for their sport." (Shakespeare)
