A gentleman traveling had asked me if I could help him he wanted to sell me one of his possession so he could buy gas to get to his destination. We had talked for a few minutes while I was pumping gas. I had asked him some probing questions. He had told me that he is a veteran and where he had been stationed when he was on active duty. He was as familiar with military lingo as I am. I had concluded he was genuine with his answers. I then handed him 40$ he wanted my address so as he could send it back to me. I told him that wouldn't be necessary and all that I would like is for him to pay it forward when he could.
