Wild turkeys are very intelligent. Domestic livestock, with the possible exception of goats, has been dumbed down by selective breeding to make them more manageable. What breed of turkeys do you have? I have noticed with my chickens that some breeds are definitely a lot smarter than others.

@LenHazell53 It is unethical and illegal for a hospital doctor to refuse treatment in this country. There are food banks in every city if the food bank can not provide there are charities that do. If someone is starving in our country they have not worked to remedy the problem.

@LenHazell53 Not saying that. If they do not earn it and someone provides they will expect it to be provided when it is not provided they resort to criminal behavior. Would you want to be hit on the head and put in a hospital because you were expected to provide and were unable to?

So what you have encountered is mostly people that do not truly appropriate a nice gesture? There is an adage that fits here "try and try again" Einstein definition of insanity is. Keep doing the same thing knowing you are going to get the same results but hoping for something different will happen.

It's a karmic trap. "If I treat you like a queen you will owe me!" Very insidiously nasty and most people don't like owing anyway.
azzow2 replies on Sep 2, 2018:
@JSchaper Ben Franklin did a human nature experiment for 1 entire year he decided to be nice. When people first discovered he was being nice they thought he was pulling a prank. After some time people started to take advantage of his nice behavior. When the year was up he returned to his normal grouchy state and he had noticed people gained respect for him.
