I'm a 66-year-old cancer patient, but improving. I attend Albuquerque events such as the New Mexico State Fair, and hike several miles a day.

I have previously mostly dated men, but I'm more oriented toward having a fun woman partner who matches my interests and background.

I don't currently own horses or go dancing, but I still do bird and wildlife photography, jam on the piano, write, make new inventions, read, go hiking, design and sew my own clothes and undergarments, do art, love to keep current on physics and astronomy feeds.

I'm a partial transmale (identify in some section of my mind as a male) and a demi-sexual (no sexual attraction for any gender or person until after a prolonged relationship of over a year..

Test showing sexual preferences
birdingnut comments on Sep 30, 2018:
In a 2013 survey where people were assured total anonymity, 84% of them admitted to at least a percentage of same-sex attraction. When they tested women with sensors that measured pupil dilation (indicating sexual attraction), all women showed sexual attraction to both genders. "As expected, heterosexual men showed strong pupillary responses to sexual videos of women, and little to men; heterosexual women, however, showed pupillary responses to both sexes. This result confirms previous research suggesting that women have a very different type of sexuality than men." Church for atheists?

There are atheist churches, Unitarian churches, etc. But I've had enough organized religion for a lifetime. If I want to get together with people, there are meet ups, community groups, book clubs, hiking and bird photography clubs, etc.
Religion? Or conscience?

birdingnut comments on Sep 30, 2018:
Studies show that when people make a list of what they want in a lifetime mate, it usually doesn't match the reality of who attracts them. People are usually drawn to the familiar, no matter how negative..if your parents were gaslighting emotional abusers, those are the types of lovers likely to attract you at a subconscious level. People aren't aware of this, of course, and keep blaming their abusive relationships on "bad luck" but then go right back into a similar relationship. To justify their behavior they go to great lengths to explain it away, and make excuses, but they don't really know why they do it. To access and reset unconscious relationship settings, people can do NLP hypnotherapy, take ayahuasca, magic mushrooms, or do meditation. BBC reported that both ayahuasca and magic mushrooms can reset the brain and cure depression, ptsd, etc., if used carefully.

Hi, Nonzero, and welcome to the website! There's no god so your question is moot. As to why people do it, people often want someone or something greater than they are to rescue them and give them what they want, so that's why they invent gods. By the way, this website has a bit of a learning curve, so here's some info, in case you need it. For members who are open to dating, certain thumbnails and profiles have a heart symbol on them with a percentage. This identifies which members are open to dating, and the percent shows approximately how compatible others are with them. You gain website points by answering all the profile questions and writing a bio, which also earns website points, and helps other members get to know you. Commenting on posts and writing your own posts earns more points. At level two you can private message people, and at level eight you get an agnostic T-shirt. If you want to date, the website uses profile algorithms to find member matches, so the more details one includes, the better the match. Many people prefer to see a written profile talking about interests, hobbies, and backgrounds that can be quickly perused to find others with similar interests.. In case you didn't know yet, to find members near you, click on the "Browse" button at the top of the page, then on "Members," and enter your preferred search parameters. Its and it's, their, they're, and there, alot, etc. Its not they're fault there so ignorant..your going to have trouble if you're not reading alot. On the other hand I'm going to plug the Thai language..if English were this easy, there'd be no reason to teach grammar; no capital letters, punctuation, verb tenses, spaces between words, or even arbitrary left to right writing. Most sentences involve few words. Instead of children in class saying "Don't block my view," they say, "Yah ban" (stop bulking). Instead of saying, "I don't want to do that!" they say "Mai ow." (no want). Few, if any, pronouns are used. Instead, people use words that reflect the person's age in relation to the speaker, like "pee" and "nong" (elder and younger) and people use self-identifying reflexive pronouns with each sentence, identifying which gender they are claiming at the moment. For example, "Jat bie, Kah" (I'm going, female reflexive pronoun). No need to even guess someone's gender, and it's a good thing. I often can't tell, and it doesn't matter.

birdingnut comments on Sep 29, 2018:
If your friend brings up religion, act bored, don't pay attention to her, and leave. If trapped, look distracted and bored. Say, "That's you, not me," then ignore her. Mumble "Um-hum..that's nice," to everything she says about religion, while glancing at your watch, then leave as soon as possible. Keep this up..only look at her, smile, or notice her when she is speaking of neutral subjects. I've found that this technique works very quickly to train relatives and friends to avoid religious subjects, since nobody likes being ignored. If her religion requires her to proselytize, hopefully, she'll stop coming around, and good riddance.

I stopped wearing make up several years ago because I want to be able to rub my eyes whenever I wish, and I also don't shave because I have almost no body hair - perhaps because of certain Thai herbs I take.

That's great! Except that I'm a demisexual who gets disgusted by hetero sex images, talk, etc. Lesbian sex is "meh" - boring. Like watching people cut up vegetables for lunch. Gay men sex is "sweet." How romantic. Still no lust. I have to have associated with someone well over a year before I feel sexual attraction, and then it's only for that person. Everyone else's sexual activity and genitals are disgusting to me. But for that one person I have a libido so strong, I'm like 10 men. I like fantasy play, costumes, mild S & M, etc. which is too much for the typical cis hetero male, who seems to prefer quick rabbit sex..get it over quickly before she changes her mind.

Well, we are our own gods, so I believe in myself. Physics indicates that we are participating in creating our own universes/reality. “Consciousness is fundamental, and matter is derived from consciousness." – Max Planck, theoretical physicist who originated quantum theory, 1918 Nobel Prize in Physics Quote: “A fundamental conclusion of the new physics also acknowledges that the observer creates the reality. As observers, we are personally involved with the creation of our own reality. Physicists are being forced to admit that the universe is a “mental” construction. Pioneering physicist Sir James Jeans wrote: “The stream of knowledge is heading toward a non-mechanical reality; the universe begins to look more like a great thought than like a great machine. Mind no longer appears to be an accidental intruder into the realm of matter, we ought rather hail it as the creator and governor of the realm of matter. Get over it, and accept the inarguable conclusion. The universe is immaterial-mental and spiritual.” – R.C. I hope I can eat food like that by the time I get back to the US. As I take cannabis oil to treat intestinal cancer, severe food allergies I've had for decades have been gradually receding. It says online that cananbis cures food allergies, so I guess that's why. Right now, prehaps because of my compromised intestines, my body has been rejecting most things that are raw or "healthy" - only letting me eat a few things at certain times of day. Going against these "rules" has usually resulted in a sudden, steep turn for the worse in cancer symptoms. Right now, I can't eat raw fruit, drink coconut milk, or eat raw vegetables, except for few leaves of dark greens once a day. For instance, recently I started craving, and found I improved drastically when, I started eating a KFC ice cream cone and a square of bakery chocolate cake/brownie each day about 10 AM. Weird. But at least it's chocolate! And ice cream. I tried other bakery goods and other brands of ice cream a few times, or increasing the amount I ate, with disastrous results to my symptom improvement (sigh). But I keep steadily improving...

birdingnut comments on Sep 28, 2018:
Good on Flake! The Senate will ask the White House to order the FBI to carry out a week-long background check on Brett Kavanaugh, before voting on whether or not to confirm him. Two Republican senators, including Jeff Flake, have said such a move is a condition of their agreeing to vote for him, forcing the hand of the majority leadership. Mark Judge, who refused to testify to the Senate committee, says he will cooperate with the investigation. Earlier, that committee voted 11 to 10 to advance the nomination after Flake, a Republican, asked for the FBI investigation. Flake’s proposal was informal because the judiciary committee doesn’t set the vote, senate majority leader Mitch McConnell is responsible for that. Donald Trump had been meeting with the president of Chile during the committee meeting but said shortly after the vote: “I just want it to work out well for the country.” The day started with a morning vote on whether to vote to advance the nomination in the afternoon. Nearly all the Democratic senators walked out in protest of that vote, but ultimately participated in the afternoon vote. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/live/2018/sep/28/kavanaugh-senate-committee-vote-live

How do you move from cheerfully flirting to being vulnerable?
birdingnut comments on Sep 27, 2018:
I strongly advise people to follow the advice in The Rules. NEVER be the instigator. Let men ask for your phone number, and you should write down their names and home cities to google them later to check on their claimed jobs and relationship status. NEVER chase, call, or pursue men. End dates first, let them pay, take your own car, don't pour out your heart to men, confide in them, speak of love, or talk about ex relationships, don't tell them where you live, etc. My own advice; Caucasian American women are status symbols for most foreign or ethnic men. They are almost always strongly patriarchal as well. Don't be flattered by their attentions..they will hit on most white women and likely won't respect your boundaries. Avoid them. Stay alive and unraped.

birdingnut comments on Sep 27, 2018:
I block people who list themselves as married yet are looking for lovers, are polyamorous, like hook ups, anyone who is crude, rude, or lewd, and people who refuse to post profile photos, write profiles, and answer the profile questions. Also anyone who keeps posting nonsense or boring posts just to earn points. So I am constantly blocking people.

birdingnut comments on Sep 27, 2018:
We should follow the example of the Netherlands in how to treat offenders, which is closing their empty prisons due to low crime. Factors for this include relaxed drug laws, a focus on rehabilitation over punishment, and an electronic ankle monitoring system that allows people to re-enter the workforce. A study published in 2008 found the ankle monitoring system reduced the recidivism rate by up to half compared to traditional incarceration. Instead of wasting away in a jail cell, eating up federal dollars, convicted criminals are given the opportunity to contribute to society. These measures all add up to an unbelievably low incarceration rate: Although the Netherlands has a population of 17 million, only 11,600 people are locked up. That's a rate of 69 incarcerations per 100,000 people. Link: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/dutch-prisons-are-closing-because-the-country-is-so-safe-a7765521.html For example of modern day slavery, look no further than US prisons. People of color toil in 21st-century fields, and Corporate America is cracking the whip. The United States Congress enacted the Prison Industry Enhancement Certification Program in 1979 which permits US companies to use prison labor. Coupled with a drastic increase in the prison population, profits for participating companies and revenue for the government and its private contractors soared. https://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/opinion/2017/09/slavery-prison-system-170901082522072.html

I'm so sorry. Most of my siblings were even worse to my parents, trying to get them involuntarily committed to a nursing home so they could sell the family farm and divide the money..when my parents were still in good health and living on my mom's farm. I fought them and later on, they tried to get me committed as well. I have now cut off contact with them. I always advise people who have gaslighting and emotionally abusive relatives, lovers, or friends, to break off all contact immediately. Delete/block/defriend them from phones and social media, never contact them again. If someone asks about them, say that "we're no longer in contact," and change the subject. Maybe you have a sibling or other relative who can let you stay with them in a guest house or guest room. Maybe you have enough SS accrued to pay for subsidized housing. Maybe you can afford or borrow a used trailer or large camper RV where you can live, and pay inexpensive trailer park rent. If you decide it, and aren't angry, the answer should appear as you meditate, since your subconscious never forgets anything and is connected with the energy of the universe.
