I was born in Haiti, of American parents, commuted back and forth to the US every five years, then moved to the US for college.

I lived in many states-but in Kentucky the longest, had two children while I lived in Durango, CO, taught English literature, writing, and ESL at two universities in Kentucky, and had my own real estate business for a few years while looking after my parents.

I was divorced, and moved to Thailand in 2010, but returned to the US five months ago, Nov. 2018, for health reasons. I'm currently living in Albuquerque, NM, recovering from cancer.

I am fluent in two languages (Haitian Creole and English) and can get by in, and read, three more (French, Spanish, Thai).

What is your personality type?
birdingnut comments on Sep 24, 2018:
The myers-briggs was debunked years ago. The popular Myers-Briggs personality test is a joke, writes Vox's Joseph Stromberg. While it might be a fun way to pass the time, he says, it has about as much insight and validity as a Buzzfeed quiz. "Several analyses have shown the test is totally ineffective at predicting people's success in various jobs, and that about half of the people who take it twice get different results each time," Stromberg writes. Stromberg says one of the key flaws to the test is that it relies on "limited binaries". Most humans, he says, fall along a spectrum and are not easily classified into opposite choices. People aren't exclusively extroverts or introverts - and where they fall on the spectrum can fluctuate widely based on how they are feeling at the moment. https://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-echochambers-28315137

Hi, Marrrry, and welcome to the website! By the way, this website has a bit of a learning curve, so here's some info, in case you need it. For members who are open to dating, certain thumbnails and profiles have a heart symbol on them with a percentage. This identifies which members are open to dating, and the percent shows approximately how compatible others are with them. You gain website points by answering all the profile questions and writing a bio, which also earns website points, and helps other members get to know you. Commenting on posts and writing your own posts earns more points. At level two you can private message people, and at level eight you get an agnostic T-shirt. If you want to date, the website uses profile algorithms to find member matches, so the more details one includes, the better the match. Many people prefer to see a written profile talking about interests, hobbies, and backgrounds that can be quickly perused to find others with similar interests.. In case you didn't know yet, to find members near you, click on the "Browse" button at the top of the page, then on "Members," and enter your preferred search parameters. birdingnut comments on Sep 23, 2018:
Cannabis and CBD oil are far better, and kratom can have dangerous side effects. A similar evergreen herb used in Thailand for back pain, derris scandens, also induces euphoria, makes you feel calm, and in my case, it sharpens my vision, eliminates dyslexia symptoms, and stops dysphoria..blending my gender fluid brain so that I can live as an androgynous woman. It can be ordered on Amazon, but I don't know if derris scandens has the same affect on other people that it foes on me. Still, it's popular in the US as a pain killer without negative side effects.

Anyone recovering from alcoholism.
birdingnut comments on Sep 23, 2018:
If you're recovering from addiction of any kind, studies have shown that taking CBD oil, found in most health food stores, helps stop the cravings. "One week of treatment with a non-psychoactive marijuana compound could help drug addicts and alcoholics from relapsing for months, a new study found. Researchers gave cannabidiol (CBD oil) to rats that consumed either alcohol or cocaine every day. The animals received a daily treatment of the CBD in gel form for a single week, according to the study published in the journal Neuropsychopharmacology. The CBD helped the critters consume less alcohol or cocaine, even when they were put into anxiety-inducing situations that might push them to take more. And the rats that had the gel applied to their skin were also less anxious and less impulsive, the study says." Link: https://www.kansascity.com/news/nation-world/article206687424.html

Depends on what you mean by that. People used to say that soul mates were when a soul split at conception to make twins, and then in another reincarnation you recognize each other. I did meet a man, once, who came close to that definition..we'd read the same books and articles, had similar hobbies and interests, finished each others' sentences, both were fanatic ballroom dancers and photographers, etc Later on, he made a remark about one of his relatives and I found out we were cousins, three times removed. This was in Lexington, KY, so from then on, he'd jokingly call me "Sis" when we appeared as a couple in public.

Hi, Tacomaa, and welcome to the website! Where did you get the Haiti tray? I was born in Haiti, of American missionary parents, and lived near Cap Haitian, at the OMS mission where we had Radio 4VEH. We used to ride our motorbikes to the cliff above Labadi, climb down the cliff using handholds, and spend the day swimming in crystal clear water, lunch at the old French ruins on the beach. Now it's a big private tourist site that bills itself as Paradise Island, I believe, and doesn't tell tourists it's part of Haiti. My ex-boyfriend, "Dadou" Dela Fuente used to manage that resort, until he was killed, but I was in the US by then don't remember the details. Click on the "Discuss" button, then "Nearby" to find members near you also. Or click on the "About" button at the top left of the page to find links to FAQ or the website tutorial. Points are now being given to level 3+ members who chat. You can see chat rooms on the group main page.

I'm up, as I am every day, at 3:30 AM, then sip cho-wa tea and eat some spicy Thai sardines, and locally baked fish crisp chips from here in Songkhla, Thailand. I ride my "gallopers" up and down the long hallway, and do 10 pull-ups in my room, climb the stairs to my 5th floor just for exercise. I steam a sticky rice roll with crushed fruit center, baked in banana leaves at 7:30 AM (19 cents) . At 8:30 AM, I walk to a local vendor stall and purchase a slice of cooked squash, a slice of corn on the cob, and a few lettuce greens, all for 4 baht (12 cents). I am looking at birds along the way, and at 10 AM I walk the 14 block round trip to Tesco-Lotus Songkhla, to get a KFC ice cream cone and slice of chocolate brownie cake from a Thai bakery, where I sit and read from my Kindle app on a Huawei tablet. I walk everywhere since I sold my motorbike, and exotic birds are everywhere also. I often take cheap local songtheaw bus/pickup trucks downtown and to nearby locations. On Sundays (today, here in Thailand) I sometimes go to the huge downtown outdoor marker for certain purchases. I read Kindle books and watch Netflix.

That's why it's wise to NOT have sex with someone until you're exclusive, and then only when using a condom. If STDs are present in the partner they will eventually surface, and better to be safe than sorry. Guys who want "hook ups" mostly don't care about the women anyway..just want a quick lust fix, while women are mostly looking for a kind, permanent partner who will have their backs and be there for them in the long haul.

birdingnut comments on Sep 22, 2018:
This article mostly just tells you what DOESN'T work, although it does mention changing to healthy, whole foods and exercising more..not helpful for many who continue to crave food. But there's hope; CBD oil, found in most health food stores, has the opposite effect of THC in cannabis oil - it suppresses the appetite. It also increases the level of mitochondria in the body, thus causing the body to burn more calories. It stimulates genes and proteins that break down fat cells, reducing the amount of new fat cells that are generated. CBD oil changes white fatty tissue into beige/brown fatty tissue, which burns energy. Fatty tissue turns from white to brown when it’s cleansed of toxins. Without toxins for white fatty tissue to shield the organs from, there’s no need for it. People can try different CBD oil dose sizes to find the desired effect on suppressing appetite. For some, 5 mg is fine for them, while others may need as much as 50 mg or more. Link: https://farma.health/cbd-weight-loss-faqs/
