brentan comments on Dec 28, 2018:
I have a great interest in this topic too. I think it's safe to assume we started off in Africa but I don't agree anymore that we moved from Africa and then became farmers and cultured people in the Middle East. I think the route took hundreds of thousands of years, people moved north as far as the ice caps and then when the Ice Age ended, millions died in the resulting floods and the survivors built up their civilisations again much further south. Recently I've been watching Maria Kvilhaug's (Lady of the Labrynth) YouTube videos on the time when the different hominids and the Neanderthals co-existed and interbred.

I was reading about Trump's family since they came to America, yesterday on Wikipedia. I was reminded of Michael Corleone in one of the Godfather movies telling a senator 'We're all part of the same hypocrisy, senator'. I dread to think what the public will do when they finally wake up to the fact that they are being encouraged to do right so as to clear the field for those who want to do wrong.
A good interview with Jordan Peterson.
brentan comments on Dec 10, 2018:
That's Marian Finucane, one of our Irish media veterans. She's not the worst by any means. I think she was really out of her depth and it helped in a way, because she was forced to ask all the 'stupid' questions. That might have been very helpful for people, like Marian's listeners, who probably had no idea where Peterson was coming from.
Just a thought.

We used to refer to a certain lager popular with women as 'a leg-opener'. There was a very predatory attitude back in the day which was acceptable. It was your job to get sex and her job to stop you. I think this is the big question now: is trying to get a woman drunk so she will be more agreeable to sex the same as spiking a drink or using date-rape drugs?

brentan comments on Dec 10, 2018:
It's so difficult to separate fact from fiction but The Holy Blood and The Holy Grail was a fascinating book! It must be 30 years since I read it, but I think the gist of it regarding modern times is that a Jesus will come from a French family who are descended from Merovingian kings who got their royal status by being descended from Jesus and Mary Magdalene.

You have a great opportunity to compare and contrast.
