It can be hard to understand without taking shortcuts. Rather than do the hard work of trying to explain those things that we don't know and why we don't know them yet, it is much simpler to make up a god to just give credit and be done with it. The more we discover, the more questions we have and the answers keep changing. Easier to have an unchanging super being to just give credit for all that we don't understand.

I have counted paper ballots, it does require more poll workers, but the totals are known by the next morning and they are available for recount. With the optiscanners, there is little delay at all. With the newest voting machines, they are simply printers with a scanner doing the actual count. Nothing stops registrars from sending out optical scanable paper ballots.

I severely curtailed my FB use once I became active here. There are members and former members that I interact with on FB, but because of the radical responses on FB I no longer post except in closed groups, have turned off the ability for others to post on my timeline and generally just lurk. I have friends IRL that are republician, democrat, libertairian, religious, and non religious. I value differing opinions, real facts and reasoned debate. You will not find anything resembling reasoned debate on the internet. I will remain here un less and until I find something better. I don't forum shop, so if you find something please post so I can check it out. I value the friendships I have made here and the people I have met from here, so I will remain and hope others do also.
