The border between the USA and Mexico has existed since the USA was founded and there have ALWAYS ...

Let's see, first there was Obama's birth certificate, then Hillary's theoretical crimes, then Mexican rapists and Muslim terrorists, and of course, there's the continuing saga of the "fake news." Trump always has to have something to get the dumbasses excited about to make sure they don't start asking any questions about his tax returns, failed businesses, ripoff ventures, sexual misadventures, Russian connections, and the fact that everyone who's ever worked with him is in jail, under indictment, under investigation, or has gone public with their stories of his abuse and mental impairment. So now we get to hear how he's the only one who cares about national security and only he has the answer of how to deal with external threats.
I think we should start a pool to guess how many out right lies President Trump will speak tomorrow ...

What I've seen is that you behave like a troll, barging into discussions just to cause conflict without contributing anything useful or factual. When called on it, you just respond with something like, "Exactly how the liberals are acting" as you did a few times with this discussion. It appears that you have no thoughts of your own and simply parrot back the opposite of whatever someone else said. So, this may not be the best discussion area for you -- this is not where you go for an argument!

The Other Side of Paradise: How I Left a Buddhist Retreat in Handcuffs Interesting and rather ...
jerry99 comments on Jan 1, 2019:
I've been on dozens of Buddhist retreats and my experience is that they tend to amplify what's already going on in your psyche. It's definitely not for everybody and the Goenka retreat that this author attended is a pretty extreme case. I had signed up for one of those in Hawaii which I thought would be more accessible but cancelled out when I learned how difficult it would be for me: primitive camping, no walking meditation, limited breaks, etc. Most of the people I see at Buddhist centers tend to be bright, well-educated, middle-aged or older. I think they are more at peace with themselves and less likely to freak out over a period of prolonged meditation and minimal distraction. There was a study done a while ago which showed that many people would rather inflict pain on themselves than sit quietly. Retreats are a wonderful way to deepen an existing meditation practice and do a system reboot of your mental state. I just wouldn't suggest it for anyone who was new to meditation or who was already dealing with mental health issues.

Maybe before you start locking children up you might consider what it takes to provide even the bare minimum of care, Mr. Trump.

Initially, NIH said only research projects run by staff scientists at the National Eye Institute (NEI) and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) would be affected. The third laboratory is at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), which is pursuing a “project on cancer immunotherapy, which will need tissue by January 31,” the agency said in a statement. “We are determining appropriate next steps to obtain tissue so that the NIAID project can begin and to avoid interruption of the NCI project. NEI does not have an immediate need to procure new fetal tissue (they have frozen stores).” Here is our story from 7 December: U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration has ordered scientists employed by the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) to stop acquiring new human fetal tissue for experiments, ScienceInsider has learned. The suspension, imposed this past September without a public announcement, came as the government launched a review of all fetal tissue research funded by the federal government. The pause affects two laboratories run by the Bethesda, Maryland–based agency, NIH officials say. jerry99 comments on Dec 25, 2018:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuesday The name Tuesday derives from the Old English "Tiwesdæg" and literally means "Tiw's Day". Tiw is the Old English form of the Proto-Germanic god Tîwaz, or Týr in Old Norse. Tîwaz derives from the Proto-Indo-European base dei-, deya-, didya-, meaning 'to shine', whence comes also such words as "deity". So we're honoring an ancient Norse god instead of an ancient Christian god. Okay.

It's almost as if someone got in there to try to sidetrack the focus on women's issues with a bunch of unrelated controversies. Dosvedanya comrade.
I feel like if there isn't an after life (not what the religious says) then life and death would be ...

Here's a little perspective on the subject: Somewhere between a second and a millennium from now, you will die. Your body and all of its parts will cease functioning and rejoin the Earth as regular, lifeless stuff. The Earth, too, will die, engulfed by an expanding, aging Sun. The Sun will burn off all of its fuel and end up a white dwarf, then burn out and die. The Milky Way will collide with nearby Andromeda, and form a large, elliptical galaxy, which will die by losing all of its stars to intergalactic space. The corpses of those remaining stars will die, decaying into their constituent parts. The universe will age onward until all matter is either stored in black holes or floating as free elementary particles. Those black holes will evaporate, and the universe will die. All that was will be an icy cold nothing, forever. https://gizmodo.com/how-the-universe-ends-1829694851

At root I blame Trump for the government shutdown.

$5B is just the first step in this monumental waste of funds. The ultimate cost is much, much greater. But more importantly, giving Shitferbrain’s this “victory” is the real issue - it would allow him to brag to his supporters that he beat the Dems, the media, and all the other smart people. So he would keep up his scare tactics, racism, and “America first” BS and continue to make a cesspool out of our country.
Oh dear...

They can’t do math and they believe a con man’s bogus promises. Let them piss their money away — it might otherwise go to the NRA or Shitferbrain’s re-election campaign. Besides, it’ll probably just go to paying off porn stars.

I don’t know what’s got your panties in a twist, but if you really want to engage with people here, I suggest you pick one or two items and post them with links along with your own thoughts on the topic. I doubt that many people have the time or inclination to wade through one of your massive posts looking for something of interest.
