I was wondering what New Zealand had them take down. It was **The Bridge**. I went to IMDb find out why that movie might have been a problem. Turns out there are quite a few movies titled "The Bridge." I am assuming that the one in question here is the 2006 documentary about the Golden Gate Bridge and the suicides associated with it. I can see where there might be mental health concerns running a movie about suicides. Still not sure I agree with the request, but it is what it is.

mcgeo52 comments on Feb 7, 2020:
If they do, it should be for violation of 18 USC 201( b)( 2). Paraphrased, the statute says that any public official who seeks something for personal gain in return for an official act is guilty. There is no question that is what trump did. For the Republicans who argued there was no crime, that argument doesn't work. For the ones who said there may have been a crime but it didn't rise to the level of impeachment, the crime in this case is Bribery. Article II, Section 4 makes it absolutely clear that is grounds for impeachment. Pelosi blew it by not including this as an Article the first time.

When I was attending college they had what was called an FTE or full time equivalent student. Budgets for departments and programs were based on FTEs, as was the pay for some adjunct faculty. I think we need to bring the concept of FTEs into the employment statistics. Two 20 hour per week jobs would be rated as 1 FTE job. Four 30 hour per week jobs would be rated as 3 FTE jobs. This would give us a much more accurate picture of employment.

I have heard that Bloomberg has hired a staff of 500 that he intends to employ full time until November to beat Trump. mcgeo52 comments on Jan 5, 2020:
It comes down to three questions: 1) Did Trump break the law? 2) Are we a nation of equal justice under the law? 3) If Trump broke the law, was it serious enough to warrant impeachment and removal? TL: DR Yes, yes, and yes. Full length answers: **1) **There is no question that Trump asked the Ukrainians to announce an investigation into the Bidens in exchange for the release of the military aid. That was documented in the summary of the call released by the White House, and has been confirmed by statements from various members of Trump's administration, as well as sworn testimony before the House, and recently released emails. But was this a violation of the law? Per 18 USC 201( b ): [Whoever --] ( 2 ) being a public official or person selected to be a public official, directly or indirectly, corruptly demands, seeks, receives, accepts, or agrees to receive or accept anything of value personally or for any other person or entity, in return for: ( A ) being influenced in the performance of any official act; Trump, a public official, corruptly sought the announcement of the investigation, something of value to him and his campaign, in return for the release of the funds. In short, he absolutely violated the law. **2)** If we are not a nation of equal justice under the law, we are well on our way to being a dictatorship. **3) **Does Trump's crime warrant impeachment and removal? Per Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution: "The President, Vice President and all Civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, **Bribery**, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors." Remember 18 USC 201( b )( 2 )? The title of that particular section is, "**Bribery** of public officials and witnesses". The Constitution is clear enough on this point that I agree with kmaz, any further discussion is not even close to debatable.

While they addressed it to the Senate in general, they specifically called out their three (as they put it) "co-religionists," Mike Crapo (R-Idaho), Mike Lee (R-Utah), Mitt Romney (R-Utah), and Tom Udall (D-New Mexico). That would be three of the four Republicans necessary to change the rules. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) has indicated that she is not happy with the idea of a trial with no witnesses or evidence. If any of those four break ranks, it will be interesting to see who joins them.
